Yes, we really were happy to see them!
This is Carito and her mom. We had had lunch them, and the dad, the day before. A delightful family!
This was in front of the temple Wednesday morning. We did ordinances for some great, great, great, etc. grandparents. It was 6th generation for Riley. Tuesday, when we asked the temple president if it was possible to do a baptism on Wednesday, he said we will arrange a baptismal service just for Riley. It's a little more complicated here, because the temple workers double up on duties, and are not available at all times. It was great, Wayne did the baptism of Riley for Orenda Bodily, and he was baptized for Thomas Chinn, her husband. Riley then went with Carlito while we went through a session.
Elder Moen and Elder Leiva who both served with us at different times in San Gil were in the session with their companions. It was so fun to see them. We had had dinner with Elder Leiva and his companion the night before, and after the session, Elder Leiva did some sealings with us. We went to a quick lunch with Elder Moen and his companion, then met up with Riley, Carlito, and Ximena. As we were walking down the street a lady (Carolina) stopped us and said she was a member and had recently arrived in Bogota, and needed to know where the church was.
After we walked to the mall, we headed for a park, Riley and the girls were in one cab, we old folks in another. Riley and I had fun snapping pix from cab to cab. (Later I will add her fotos, we are downloading them today)
Just a quick fix on the blog, will complete it with the other pictures soon. Now we are off to teach English, Janna and Riley are going to be our guest speakers! Then a walk in the park, a special something that President Bonza has planned with the members at the church at 4 p.m., and our "party" at 6:30. Whew, what a busy day. Yesterday we went to the National Park with Juan Carlos, and took an incredible tram ride. Then Wayne returned to San Gil, and the rest of us went on to Bucaramanga because Juan Carlos had a class there, and was very kind to say he would bring us back home the same night. We bummed around the mall, met up with Elder Williams (and companion). Elder Williams was in San Gil with us until he had his appendix our a couple of weeks ago. We all hope he can return when he is tough enough to do the San Gil hills!
Wow, I'm sitting here thinking back 50 years ago, and being very grateful for the wonderful life Wayne and I have had together. Words can't express the love we have for our family and the source of joy they have been in our life. Thanks, kids, for making this trip through life such a blessing to us. We love you very much, and look forward to being with you all very soon.
We have also been blessed with wonderful friends, and thanks to all of you for your love and support. Many of you we have known for more than these 50 years, others more recent, and we truly value your friendships.
Must run, will get the big 50th anniversary on as soon as I can. We return with Riley and Janna to Bogota on Tuesday, and have some busy days planned in between.
Love to you all, thanks for being a part of our life!
