Odds and Ends

some of the beauty and charm of Guane, near us - Barichara is about 20 minutes away, Guane another 10 or 15. Our Relief Society went, can't find the pictures I thought I posted of them. Will search, this post won't let me add anything more....Oooops, still learning.

The neat thing about this baptism is that all of the missionaries are in ties. Richard was baptized just a short time ago, and was so excited to be able to baptize Andrea.

Beautiful setting for tennis, courts are primitive.

Local wildlife on our way to the baptism. It was drinking, and reminded me of our Monarch butterflies.

Sheribel from Socorro - neat baptism.

Beautiful church in Barichara

President Camargo and Sister Camargo at their final meeting with us, The Camargos with Elder Benjamin de Hoyos of the Seventies in our own La Posada Familiar here in San Gil. First time ever for a ranking authority to visit this little branch. What wonderful people they all are.

These are the views inside of our classroom, these swallows had their nest on top of the light fixture, and they buzzed in the window (no glass, just bars and shutters closing from the inside), and out the door at will. At first it was a little disconcerting, but we got used to it, and the babies were cute to see popping their heads out. We didn't ever see the babies fly, but I got the blur of one of the parents.

These are the views out of the window of our classroom in Socorro.

Fanny got to taste our first harvest of zanahorias! Look at the tomato plants. This was about 2 weeks ago, and the tomatoes now have itty-bitty tomatoes on them! The cilantro is coming up from seed for the second crop!

It started out with strong wind (unusual for here) thunder and lightning! The whole storm lasted for a good half hour, this steep street tuned into an amazing river in just a few minutes.

You can see the water has now turned to this yellow-brown color, this is the soil from the mountain being washed down and reaching us here. The Ladies in the green doors are sweeping the "tides" from their houses. Awesome! and in just a few minutes time!
